Science that drives action

SELVA's Conservation Science Program

The focus of this program is to fill ecological Information gaps to facilitate the conservation of biodiversity at multiple levels. We use various analytical tools to identify and study populations, species, communities and priority habitats in regions with high biodiversity and which also potentially suffering from human transformation.

This program's objectives are:

Generate Information to understand the factors that affect the dynamics of species and focal groups in transformed landscapes and priority areas

Set the basis for the establishment of biodiversity monitoring programs in critical regions for endemic or threatened species

Provide solid science-based knowledge for the design of conservation actions such as conservation plans or directed restoration programs, in regions which are sensitive to human transformation and climate change
