Intervention model for sustainable landscapes

Contributing to biodiversity and ecosystem service conservation and promoting sustainable production that considers all social and economic dimensions, is essential to overcome the environmental challenges we are facing today.

With this intervention model, we aim to implement conservation actions that directly involve the local communities that live in key areas for focal bird species groups (migratory and endemic) identified by SELVA.

We use the scientific information we and others generate to carry out directed interventions that are more likely to improve and restore habitats that favor biodiversity and people within productive landscapes.

Project objectives

Define conservation objectives with landowners and stakeholders, so that they participate in conservation initiatives that are aligned with their production expectations and goals

For each Project site custom design a work plan that involves local stakeholders for the implementation of landscape management tools

Build capacity in nursery maintenance and restoration tools so that conservation initiatives can be replicated and can persist on the long term

Provide resources and tools to grow the necessary plant material for restoration initiatives

Provide technical assistance during the implementation of landscape management tools

Form alliances between local stakeholders so that they carry out the implementations within project regions

Support the declaration of conservation and protected areas to complement the landscape management tools
